Gen5 NVMe rollout complete in FRA, IAD, SIN

For most of 2025 we were the only major hoster in Frankfurt still shipping gen4 NVMe as our default. That changes today.

Gen5 NVMe (specifically, Kioxia CD8P and Micron 7500 Pro) is now the default on every new instance in FRA, IAD, and SIN. If you're on Standard or above, you'll see a jump from ~1.2 GB/s sustained sequential to ~3.4 GB/s.

Existing gen4 volumes migrate live at your next reboot — the storage layer is content-addressable, so we can flip the underlying media without moving your data. No downtime, no snapshot, no fiddly maintenance window.

The remaining 29 regions get gen5 NVMe by end of Q4 2026. If your workload depends on this and you're outside FRA/IAD/SIN, drop us a note and we'll prioritize.
